Meet the Guest Artist: Julia Morsher

Julia Morsher will be singing at Etta Mae’s Musicale. She is also the director of the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

A native of Houston, TX, Julia Morsher was raised by musical parents and attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts for voice. She earned a Bachelor of Music at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, and studied with the renowned singer, Rita Shane. She then went on to pursue a Master of Music at University of Houston in the studio of Cynthia Clayton.
In 2014, Julia began volunteering for the Amelia Earhart Playhouse in Wiesbaden, Germany where she coached and directed several music productions – Les Misérables, Spring Awakening, The Fantasticks, Nunsense – as well as taught voice within the US military community. In Spring 2016, Julia attended the military theater awards ceremony known as TOPPERS, and was nominated for “Best Music Director.” She also took home the award for “Best Orchestra” in The Fantasticks. Her time at the AEP was the most fulfilling work she did in Germany and is where her passion for making arts accessible to all communities started to flourish.
This is Julia’s first year as FBSO Chorus Director. She resides in Stafford, TX with her husband, Joe and daughter, Sophia.
