2018 Competition Information

Contestants must currently be a Texas resident age 18 or younger on the date of the competition. Previous first prize winners are not eligible to participate.
Contestants are to perform one movement from a concerto or a work from the standard repertoire for solo instrument with orchestra accompaniment no longer than 12 minutes long. The contestant must perform with piano accompaniment at the competition at his or her own expense. Memorization is required.
The winner will receive a $500 scholarship and the opportunity to perform with the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra at the concert to be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Stafford Centre 10505 Cash Road, Stafford, Texas 77477.
Contestants will receive email confirmation of their applications with performance time and directions to the contest site approximately 2 weeks before the competition date.
The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to limit the number of contestants.
The non-refundable entry fee if $60. Applications must be submitted online by December 31, 2016. Late applications will only be accepted if space is available. Telephone or fax entries will not be accepted.
